180 – Heritage Banks

The late Renaissance Revival building pictured in the forefront of this photograph, opened in 1929 as the Canadian Bank of Commerce and would later merge with the Imperial Bank of Canada.  When it was built, it was described as “…one of the most highly furnished and finished banking rooms in Western Canada.”
