161 – The Kennebecasis

Derived from the Mi’kmaq word “Kenepekachiachk,” meaning ‘little long bay place.’  It runs for about 95 kilometres.  One time I was kayaking in a portion of Kennebecasis River near the Bay of Fundy end, and seals actually popped up out of the water right beside me, which I was expecting being in the river and all, though I know they are also plentiful in the nearby Saint John harbour.
