51 – Longest Covered Bridge in the World

Hartland, New Brunswick is home to a global landmark, the longest covered bridge in the world.  In 1980 the bridge became a designated national historic site of Canada and the Olympic torch was carried across in 1987.  This ‘kissing bridge’ was a wonder of engineering at the time it was built, stretching 1282 feet across the St. John River.
